Falcon Automation™

Overview

Falcon Automation™ brings your host system to the field with a seamless connection to a mobile device interface. Falcon Automation works with all host systems or database applications.

Falcon has two main components:

• Falcon MobileClient™ is the user interface for the mobile device(s). It runs on any bar code scanner, handheld computer, or laptop that uses a Windows-based operating system.
• Falcon MobileServer™ manages data transfer between mobile devices and the host system. It runs on any Windows PC that can run your host system or database application.

Together, these components allow your host application to go where the data is.

Falcon MobileClient devices communicate with your host in real-time or batch mode.

• Real-time mode - the mobile device transmits each transaction as you enter it, using a wireless connection. If the device moves out of wireless range, MobileClient saves transactions until the network is available again.
• Batch mode - the mobile device saves transactions as you enter them. You connect the mobile device to its dock on the network and send the batch of transactions to the host.

Falcon MobileServer handles the communications behind the scenes. It also includes system management and optional functions like bar code label printing and data review (in batch mode).
