Falcon MobileServer

Falcon MobileServer is the middle layer of the system, handling communications between the mobile devices and the host inventory database. Falcon MobileServer runs on any Windows 2000 or XP PC—server level hardware is not necessary.

MobileServer has two primary functions. It manages data transfer, passing data transactions from MobileClient to the host and passing item information up to the MobileClient. MobileServer is also the system administration console, where you can control server functions and manage batch processing.

Falcon MobileServer's optional functions include bar code label printing and batch data management.

Using item and location data from the host, MobileServer can print bar code labels for a single new part or an entire warehouse. The labels are printed with Seagull Scientific's BarTender software, which provides a great deal of flexibility in your choice of encodings and bar code printers.

In batch mode, MobileServer controls the flow of batch data from MobileClient to the host. You can transfer batched transactions to the host as they arrive, or hold them in MobileServer for review and editing. MobileServer monitors data transfer and flags errors for correction.
